British Marine Equipment Association The British Marine Equipment Association (BMEA), established in 1966, is a market orientated trade association representing and promoting the interests of British manufacturers and suppliers of marine equipment and marine services to all types of commercial ships, from the smallest workboats to largest ships afloat. BMEA also serves the interests of manufacturers and suppliers of hotel equipment to passenger ships; marine equipment and services to ports and terminals; the offshore industry, the fishing industry and marine technology. |

Indian National Shipowners' Association INSA was formed by the representatives of Indian Shipowners to deal with the problems affecting the growth and development of Indian Mercantile Marine, eversince the first Indian vessel, s.s.Loyalty sailed from the Indian shores then a decade ago on 5th April 1919.After independence INSA attained a new importance with the Government of India recognizing it as the representative body of Indian shipowners, and giving it due representation on official and public bodies connected with merchant shipping.Today, INSA has 36 members with a combined gross registered tonnage of 9.02 million tonnes, which represents 90% of the total Indian tonnage.

Institute of Marine Engineers India The objects and purposes for which the Institute is constituted are to promote the scientific development of Marine Engineering in all its branches and in the furtherance of such knowledge, to enable Marine Engineers to meet and correspond to facilitate the inter change of ideas in respect of improvements and improved methods of working machinery, to publish and communicate information on such objects, to uphold the status of members of the Institute by prescribing or holding examination for candidates for election or by requiring standards of knowledge and experience which can be approved, to cooperate with Universities, other educational institutions and public educational bodies for the furtherance of education in engineering science, and to constitute and maintain a Benevolence fund, for affording relief to indigent members of the Institute and the families of deceased members.

The Baltic and International Maritime Council BIMCO is an independent international shipping association, with a membership composed of ship owners, managers, brokers, agents and many other stakeholders with vested interests in the shipping industry. The association acts on behalf of its global membership to promote higher standards and greater harmony in regulatory matters. BIMCO is accredited as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), holds observer status with a number of United Nations organs and is in close dialogue with maritime administrations, regulatory institutions and other stakeholders within the EU, the USA and Asia.

Vietnam Register provides services in four areas: Technical supervision and certification for water-craft, including sea-going ships and river-going ships; offshore installations including fixed and mobile installations, floating storage tankers, sub-sea pipelines and refineries, road and rail motor vehicles, and industrial products including materials, components and equipment intended for above mentioned means and structures. Since 2001, VR has got involved with the safety and quality management system certification. |

The Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers, Singapore (SNAMES) was formed in 1981 to facilitate the exchange of ideas on the practical and scientific aspects of Design, Construction, Operations, Repairs and Maintenance of Marine Machinery, structures, vessels and related fields. Apart from being an organisation with solid knowledge base, it is also an excellent organisation for members to network in the Marine and Offshore industry. |
